2007 DTM Preview

This weekend will be the season opening race for the 2007 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters Series, which is the premiere racing series in Germany.

As with last season, there are 20 entrants for the 2007 season. The top two drivers from 2006, 4-time series champion Bernd Schneider and young Canadian Bruno Spengler, are back and this year they are teammates. They will be driving for Mercedes, along with the young Briton Jamie Green and experienced Formula 1 star Mika Häkkinen. The Audi squad will be lead by 2004 champion Mattias Ekström, Martin Tomczyk, Tom Kristensen, and Timo Scheider.

We will also see the return of 2005 champ Gary Paffett in a 2006 Mercedes and the debut of experienced road racers Lucas Luhr and Mike Rockenfeller with Audi Team Rosberg. For the complete 2007 entry list, click here.
